“The pilot animal-assisted therapy (AAT) programme in neuro-rehabilitation at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital was a great success! We were able to conduct goal-oriented activities while enhancing patient motivation and engagement at the same time during these AAT sessions. Each session was also adapted to fit the individual needs of each patient, based on their progress. Our patients and families looked forward to the AAT sessions every week. We plan to continue our collaboration with The Dogtors and expand the AAT program to help more children with brain injuries in their recovery process.”
