What are the prerequisites
for inclusion in this directory?
1. Degree in medicine, allied health, or social work
For example, clinical psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, counsellors etc.
2. Registration in a recognised professional organisation
Examples of such organisations include the Allied Health Professionals Council, Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors Singapore, Singapore Psychological Society, Singapore Association for Counselling, Singapore Association of Social Workers, British Psychological Society, American Psychological Association, American Counselling Association, American Psychotherapy Association, Australian Psychological Society, Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists, World Federation of Occupational Therapists
3. Training in animal-assisted interventions including completion of relevant courses and certifications from reputable universities
The Dogtors recognises certifications from the University of Denver, the University of Colorado, and Oakland University.
